The covered bridge was built in 1995 so that guests could access the back of the Herendeen Lake Resort property. Joshua’s Crossing (also known as “Loon Song Covered Bridge”) is a 90-foot covered bridge that crosses a ravine and small creek leading the way to a beautiful lake front paradise in Northern Michigan. It rises gently to a serene 50 acre “No wake lake” through fully wooded lands frequented by many Loon, Deer, Eagles, and other wildlife. The property is “private” and located just 15 minutes West of Traverse City, Michigan and is just a short distance from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Joshua’s Crossing was named after Joshua Gabrick, son of resort owner Mark Gabrick. The road that leads to the bridge is known as Tasha’s Trail and is named after Mark’s daughter. The bridge is 14′ wide and was made with white oak decking and split cedar shingled roof constructed with the help of many friends.
