Fall Color Touring in Michigan with Aventura Clothing 2016

Fall Color Touring

Fall is in full swing and in it’s “Peak” season which means it’s Fall Color touring time in Northern Michigan.

As a four seasons, outdoors family we have learned to love and embrace each and every season for it’s unique beauty and the changing of our outdoors activities. For us, fall color touring has always been taken quite seriously, being planned well in advance and very strategically by following Pure Michigan and local social sites, monitoring and tracking the progress of the fall colors for their anticipated “Peak” dates both “Upnorth” in the Upper Peninsula as well as the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

Rites of Passage

Over the years our Fall Color touring has become a two-part rite of passage and adventure that our family has come to look forward to more and more each year.  The beginning typically taking place sometime during the first two weeks of October “Upnorth” chasing waterfalls, and exploring the many miles of pristine shorelines of Lake Superior,  the many trails and spectacular overlooks at Lake of the Clouds – Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, and The Keweenaw Peninsula. The remainder of the month is spent closer to home in the Lower Peninsula seeking out favorite trails,  chasing waves along the Lake Michigan shoreline, and exploring and hiking the many trails of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, always in search of a new and better vantage point to take in and photograph the full beauty of the Fall colors.

Aventura Clothing Fall Previews

Being a second year Aventura Clothing Ambassador has brought with it a new and also highly anticipated Fall event through the release of the annual Fall/Winter Aventura Clothing collections.  As an official Aventura Ambassador we have been given the opportunity to preview the new 2016 collections and to pick out (3) complete “sets” (outfits) to wear and share through our social media circles with our friends, families and communities.

Over the past two years Aventura Clothing has quickly become a main staple in my every day and adventure closet. It’s all about the attention to details and the feminine touch, which is both flattering and functional, fitting my lifestyle so perfectly.  Aventura’s designs are fresh and new, yet the styles and colors continue to compliment and work together from year to year. I also really love the fact that Aventura clothing is mindfully crafted with natural fibers and a low environmental impact providing women with a stylish, natural look while also “Helping the Earth, one garment at a time”.  Living my daily life while being thoughtful of my environment and leaving a smaller carbon footprint are both things that I care deeply about.

Aventura Fall/Winter 2016

Kimberly’s Pick #1:

Nixon Top (Loden Frost)

The Nixon Top is a pretty little thermal with princess and decorative embroidery.  I especially love how the contrast stitching is picked up in this top and complimented and picked up also in the Joey top!

Joey Top (Blue Indigo)

100% organic cotton yarn died flannel that is casual and comfy to be worn over the Nixon top or on its own! I love to wear this top over and together with the Nixon Top or for added warm and layering I like to top them both off with the Granada Vest.

Granada Vest (Blue Indigo)

Warm and cozy the Granada Vest tops off this outfit with the added warmth of the poly lining and fill, while being stylish with its knit collar and quilted stitching.

Tara Pant (Black)

The Tara Pant designed with organic cotton and just the right amount of stretch to make these pants a daily favorite to wear any where and with anything!

Kimberly’s Pick #2:

Kaylee Top (Blue Indigo)

The Kaylee top with its lightweght hacci knit is a perfect layering piece which adds an extra pop of style with it’s sporty stripes.

Kennedy Sweater (Black)

This open front 28.5″ knit vest dresses up a normally casual look.  I love the Black and Gray dip-dyed styling of this vest giving it an extra updated look.

Titus Pant (Black)

An eco-friendly version of black denim with an extra special unique seam detailing that runs the full length of this pant.

Tula Scarf (Citadel)

This scarf adds a bit of extra styling with its Southwest Navajo blanket pattern and colors.

Kimberly’s Pick #3

Eden T-Neck Top (Black)

A luxuriously soft and durable take on the classic turtleneck with some extra feminine detailing at the neck and sleeves.  The little touch of spandex gives this top a feminine form fitting that is still comfortable and not restricting. The length seems quite ample especially on my somewhat longer torso.

Skyler Sweater (Blue Indigo)

The Skyler Sweater must be my #1 and most favorite piece so far!  I loved it so much that I bought an additional sweater in another color on my own. This sweater is a comfy, soft open neck pullover hoody style sweater that is comfy and not bulky even when worn over another top. I have layered this sweater up and worn even while hiking, never feeling over heated or uncomfortable. The fit is amazing and it’s so comfortable that there are times  that I feel I could almost sleep in it! Never wanting to take it off. 🙂

Carlin Pant (Black)

The Carlin Pant with it’s cotton/lycra/twill blend and extra detailing in its unique button and pocket features is a well designed and rugged pant that looks great, feels great.
